Four Premier League clubs Joao Felix could join as Atletico Madrid ace eyes ‘escape route’

Liverpool

The necessity for attacking reinforcements to arrive at Anfield has been apparent on more than one occasion in recent months.

Liverpool’s front three have been untouchable in recent years, but with none of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane or Roberto Firmino getting any younger, the Reds appear to be making contingency plans for the future.

It’s hard to see Liverpool not being tempted by a cut-price deal for Felix; who isn’t likely to command a sum anywhere near the eye-watering figure that Atletico originally paid.

His versatility would enable him to slow seamlessly into Liverpool’s ruthlessly efficient frontline for years to come.

Newcastle

After their Saudi-backed £305m takeover back in October, it feels like Newcastle have been linked with just about every player in Europe.

But, with their newfound wealth, it’s pretty much a guarantee that they’ll try to entice Felix into making the switch to Tyneside when he does depart Atletico.

Although Newcastle won’t struggle in putting together an attractive financial package, it remains to be seen if they’d be able to persuade Felix to trade European football for an ambitious rebuilding job – and that’s assuming that they can stave off relegation this term under new boss Eddie Howe.

Regardless, Felix, or someone of his ilk, is certainly the type of blockbuster signing that Magpies’ fans are hoping to see in the near future.
