Van de Beek has played just seven minutes of football under Ralf Rangnick at Old Trafford having previously struggled for playing time with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in charge.
Heading into the New Year, Rangnick appeared to indicate that he wanted to keep Van de Beek at the club.
“I also had a long conversation with him last week about that and again, of course it is difficult for him right now because he also wants to play for the Dutch national team, he wants to qualify for himself and play in the World Cup in Qatar,” Rangnick said at the start of January.
“In order to do that he needs to get game time here.
