The ceremony will begin at 11am and Queen Elizabeth’s eldest son will be crowned King Charles III at noon tomorrow.

In many ways, aside from their band name, Queen are as archetypically British as the monarchy itself.

Not only is their greatest hits album the best-selling record in the country but Brian May and Roger Taylor have performed at both the Golden and Platinum Jubilee concerts for Queen Elizabeth II.

The guitarist, who was knighted by King Charles III this week, even convinced the late monarch to tap along to We Will Rock You with Paddington Bear.

And now one of Freddie Mercury’s Queen songs has been selected for The King’s official Coronation Celebration Playlist.

Charles himself was famously a fan of The Three Degrees, but the playlist of 27 songs has been hand-selected on behalf of His Majesty by the Department of Culture, Media and Sport.

The Spotify selection includes modern British hits from Harry Styles’ Treat People With Kindness to Sam Ryder’s Eurovision entry SPACE MAN and even Years & Years’ aptly named song King. But there are plenty of classic tracks too from The Who’s Love Reign O’er Me to Tom Jones’ Green Green Grass of Home and The Beatles’ Come Together.

Given the history of Queen with the British crown over the last half a century – including Sir Brian playing God Save The Queen on the roof of Buckingham Palace – it’s unsurprising that one of their hits has been chosen. But can you guess what it is? We’ll give you a clue – it’s a Live Aid classic.

Most famously it was the closing song of Queen’s iconic five-track set at Live Aid. To this day, Queen and Adam Lambert close their live concerts with Will Will Rock You followed by We Are The Champions.

Most recently on their Rhapsody World Tour, the singer would come out wearing a crown as the stage was showered with gold confetti, making it even more appropriate for the King’s Coronation.
