Tyson Fury has sent the England football team a message of support after their cruel exit from the World Cup on Saturday night. England were beaten 2-1 in their quarter-final match against France, but Fury has rallied behind them.
Taking to Instagram, he wrote: “Hold your heads up lions. We Go Again England. Support Our Team. Support Our Boys. Support Our Team. In Victory and In Defeat. It ain’t about how hard you hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward.”
The Gypsy King has always got behind his national football team, especially when it comes to major tournaments. During the 2016 Euros, he was pictured drinking with fans out in France and made headlines when he bought 200 Jagerbombs for supporters before marching to the stadium with them to watch the game.
Fury had planned to do the same if England continued to progress in this year’s World Cup but that came to a grinding halt when Harry Kane skyed his last-gasp penalty.
“I’m going to sneak a few cases in my suitcase. They [England fans] can have anything they want — whatever gets them going. Think of Euro 2016 when I went to Nice and bought 200 fans Jagerbombs.”
Fury recently recorded a third victory over Derek Chisora at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after eight months out of the ring. He is now expected to face Oleksandr Usyk in the first undisputed heavyweight unification bout of the four-belt era next.
According to Usyk’s promoter, Alexander Krassyuk, the fight is being targeted for a date between February 18 and March 4 in the Middle East. This is all providing that sanctioning bodies go along with the fight and don’t force mandatory challengers that could threaten a halt to the contest.
