Jesse Lingard took to Instagram during last nights’ fight to send a message to Tyson Fury. The Nottingham Forest midfielder branded the WBC champion ‘the greatest of all time’ as he watched Fury dismantle Derek Chisora with delight.
“Tyson’s the GOAT bruv, Tyson’s the GOAT. Ay, no one can test Tyson, no one,” said Lingard in a video shared to Fury’s Instagram story.
Lingard wasn’t the only footballer to praise Fury’s performance, England and Manchester City star, Jack Grealish also showed his support online. “What a man, come on @tysonfury,” wrote Grealish on Instagram. Meanwhile, English football legend Wayne Rooney urged King Charles to give Fury a knighthood after his latest triumph.
“He’s the best we’ve seen for a long time. I don’t think anyone will beat him. I think he’s an absolute legend, what he’s done for boxing. He’s entertaining. His skills are incredible,” Rooney told talkSPORT.
According to Usyk’s promoter Alexander Krassyuk, the fight is being targeted for a date between February 18 and March 4 in the Middle East. And there is no shortage of promotional material to work with after Fury and Usyk came face to face after the Chisora trilogy.
“Usyk, you little b**** you’re next. Me and you Usyk, you’re next sucker. You little rabbit you’re getting it next. P****. Fifteen-stone little midget beat a bodybuilder well I’m not a bodybuilder,” said Fury.
“I’ve already done one Ukrainian Klitschko and I’ll do you too gappy teeth. You ugly little man. Let’s get it on. You may laugh, but I will end you, you little sucker. What are you going to do? You’re going to do nothing.”
