Gabby Agbonlahor claims Liverpool vs Man United is only the THIRD-BIGGEST rivalry in Britain ahead of tomorrow’s Premier League clash, as he insists the Old Firm derby leads the way ‘by a mile’… and even ranks Aston Villa vs Birmingham ahead of it!

- He feels Liverpool vs Man United is only the third-biggest rivalry in Britain
- He feels Rangers and Celtic have the biggest rivalry in Britain ‘by a mile’
Gabby Agbonlahor is adamant that Liverpool and Manchester United do not have the biggest rivalry in British football.
The two clubs are due to meet on Sunday at Anfield, and have picked up 39 league titles between them to establish themselves as England’s two most successful teams.
With both sides vying to be seen as the biggest club in the country, every game between the two sides is a grudge match, but Agbonlahor believes Rangers and Celtic have a far bigger rivalry, and has suggested that games between Liverpool and United have become too friendly over the years.
‘Biggest derby is Rangers/Celtic,’ Agbonlahor told talkSPORT. ‘It is on my bucket list to go and see.
‘When you watch it on the TV, you can feel the adrenaline watching the game.

Agbonlahor thinks Rangers and Celtic have the biggest rivalry in Britain ‘by a mile’
‘You can feel the atmosphere from the fans, you can see the two teams dislike each other. That is a big, big derby. The biggest in Britain by a mile, for me.
Some of the others… Manchester United vs Manchester City – not really for me.
‘Manchester United/Liverpool – yes there is a rivalry but the players are shaking hands nowadays.’
Agbonlahor was involved in plenty of derbies himself during his time at Aston Villa as a player, and he has claimed that the Midlands derby with Birmingham City has the edge over any other fixture in England.
‘There is actual hatred between both fans,’ he said.
‘We always knew we would beat Birmingham City and we knew how much it meant to the fans.

‘Even if you had four or five bad games, you go and beat Birmingham City in the Premier League and it is sort of like, you are forgiven for them poor performances.
‘Massive, massive derby. It gets very heated. You see the incident with Jack Grealish [attacked by a fan], you don’t really see that in English football. It just shows the hatred between both clubs.’
Agbonlahor went on to complete his top five derbies in Britain by placing West Ham vs Millwall fourth, while Tottenham-Chelsea took the final spot.
His picks are likely to spark debate up and down the country, with the Merseyside derby between Liverpool and Everton not making the cut, and the north London derby that pits Tottenham against Arsenal also missing out on Agbonlahor’s list.
