A big update for Alia Bhatt fans! Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali has recently given a big update about his upcoming film ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’. He has recently revealed the Gangubai Kathiawadi’s release date.
Gangubai Kathiawadi was originally scheduled for a global cinema premiere on September 11, 2020. Gangubai Kathiawadi’s release date has since been postponed many times owing to the COVID-19 outbreak in India.
The film will now make its international premiere at the 72nd Berlin International Film Festival, which will be held from February 10 to February 20, 2022, and will be released theatrically on February 25, 2022, in both Hindi and dubbed Telugu versions.

Gangubai Kathiawadi is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language biographical crime drama film directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and produced by Bhansali and Jayantilal Gada. It is based on a chapter of Hussain Zaidi’s book Mafia Queens of Mumbai about Ganga Harjivandas, a simple girl from Kathiawad who had no choice but to embrace the ways of destiny and turn it in her favour; the film shows how in no time she marks her own territory and transforms Gangubai, a madame in Kamathipura’s red light district. It stars Alia Bhatt as the titular character Gangubai.
