Mason Greenwood faces an uncertain future with his country as well as his club after Gareth Southgate vowed not to pick the Manchester United striker again for England.

The 21-year-old had charges for rape, assault and coercive behaviour dropped in February.

Though he hasn’t been found guilty of these charges in the eye of the law, United are now conducting an internal investigation into Greenwood and he’s not expected to feature in the remainder of the season at the very least.

United will either reintegrate Greenwood, look to sell him or terminate his contract, but that decision will follow a length enquiry.

But, regardless of that decision, the Sun say Southgate has made up his mind not to pick Greenwood again.

Greenwood has played just once for England and was sent home following a game against Iceland for breaking Covid-19 rules by inviting two girls back to their hotel room.

The United striker has not been near the Three Lions squad since and Southgate places huge importance on having good characters in the camp.

Southgate has decided to stay as Three Lions coach and will see England through to the 2024 European Championships.

However, regardless of how Greenwood’s investigation plays out, it appears his England future under Southgate is over.
