Geena Davis just released her brand new autobiography, Dying of Politeness: A Memoir, and, in it, detailed a number of fascinating and hilarious scenarios from her 40-year Hollywood career. One of these situations involved a raunchy sex scene with Brad Pitt in the Oscar-winning 1991 movie Thelma & Louise.
Davis played Thelma in the 1990s epic, directed by Ridley Scott. In the picture, Thelma had a fling with Brad Pitt’s character, JD, a drifter who turned out to have dreadful intentions for the young woman.
However, when things came to filming the two characters laid bare in the throes of passion, Pitt reportedly got a little “embarrassed” about his rear.
Davis wrote in her memoir: “Brad, for his part, couldn’t have cared less about all the fuss over his looks. He was just embarrassed about a tiny little pimple on his butt.”
The actor, who has gone on to become one of the biggest Hollywood stars of all time, was just 28-years-old at the time and was a relative nobody. He’d had a few uncredited bit-parts, and was just a few years away from starring in 1995’s Seven.
Despite not being a major acting name just yet, Pitt was nervous about showing his pimpled butt on the big screen.
Thankfully, Davis revealed, the “make-up gal re-covered [his bum] after each take”.
She later revealed that Scott, who had previously shot Alien and Blade Runner, was particularly interested in making Pitt look perfect for the sex scene between the two stars.
She added: “Ridley seemed much more concerned about how Brad looked than I did in that scene, making sure the lighting was just so, and even personally spraying Brad’s abs with Evian.”

Davis revealed Scott saw a “line of actors” to play her body double.
Eventually, she confessed, she couldn’t “stand it any longer”. “I’d worked as a model, after all — so I told Ridley I’d do it … I needn’t have worried.”
Over ten years later, Pitt changed his mind about getting his kit off for the big screen. Long after he had married Angelina Jolie and adopted a slew of children with her, he vowed to remove the clause from his contracts.
He confessed in 2007: “I don’t want to be embarrassed when my kids get old enough to see my films. I can’t see any more nude scenes.”
Pitt later went on to bare it all in Fight Club and Troy.
Davis also used her memoir to reveal that George Clooney was devastated he didn’t get Pitt’s part in Thelma & Louise. She wrote: “I happened to be seated next to him on an airplane and he is very gregarious and chatty and wonderful. And at some point he said: ‘I hate that Brad Pitt.’ [She replied] Well no, he is like your best friend or something? And he said: ‘No, because he got the part.’ And I said: ‘Oh, did you want that part?’ and he said: ‘Couldn’t you tell when I auditioned with you?’”
Thelma & Louise is available to watch on Amazon Prime Video now.
