Gehraiyaan: Ananya Panday’s coming of age performance as Tia to be a major turning point in her journey as an actor : Bollywood News – Bollywood Hungama

Ananya Panday locked herself in a bathroom for 20 minutes after she got a narration for the film Gehraiyaan from director Shakun Batra and co-writer Ayesha Devitre. The actress said that she was extremely overwhelmed to have been approached for a film that involved complex characters and to work with a team of actors that included Deepika Padukone and needed time to process it. For Ananya, Gehraiyaan marks her fourth film and in all capacity a film that allows her to explore the artist in her.

Ananya Panday essays the role of Tia who comes across as a very positive and joyful person. She is engaged to Sidhant Chaturvedi’s character Zain and is Deepika Padukone’s character Alisha’s cousin. In one of the character promo of Tia, we get to know that she is too trusting and that might just be a breaking point for the character in the film. Her fiance is having a relationship with Alisha of which she is unaware. As Tia, Ananya has presented a new side to herself as an actor with her restrained and mature performance in the film.

Ananya, who started her acting career with the 2019 film Student Of The Year 2 followed by Pati Patni, Aur Woh, and Khaali Peeli has so far been seen in a bubbly avatar with full of life. With Gehraiyaan, Ananya has taken up the most complex and layered character that she has ever played. In a recent interview, Ananya shared how the director Shakun Batra helped her define her process through the making of the film. Before Gehraiyaan, the young star reveals she never thought of the process but was enjoying every moment of being an actor.

With Gehraiyaan, Ananya is all set to surprise the audience with her coming-of-age performance and is surely be a turning point in her journey as an actor. The film co-produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions is all set to release on Amazon Prime Video on February 11.
