Two struggling teams in the Big East face off on Sunday, with the Georgetown Hoyas traveling to take on the Butler Bulldogs.
Butler comes into this game at 5-11 in Big East play, but the team has been much better at home (10-4) than on the road (2-8) this season.
This should be a winnable matchup for the Bulldogs against Patrick Ewing’s Hoyas, who have lost six straight games and only have one win in Big East play (1-15).
The Hoyas have been the worst team in the Big East for quite some time, and now they’re just five-point dogs on the road? Something’s up.
Here are the odds and a pick for this Sunday matchup:
Georgetown vs. Butler odds, spread and total
Georgetown vs. Butler prediction and pick
This game is Butler or nothing for me, especially since the Bulldogs have handled business in games that Vegas expected them to win.
Butler is 5-1-1 against the spread when playing as a five-point favorite or more, and it already has a 29-point road win over the Hoyas this season.
The Bulldogs are coming off a loss to Villanova, but they upset a ranked Xavier team last Friday.
The Hoyas are downright awful, especially on defense this season, ranking 345th in the country in opponent points per game.
Ewing’s squad is 214th in KenPom this season, and it has lost five of its last six games by six or more points.
The Hoyas have just one win in Big East play, coming against DePaul who is 3-13 in the Big East and 9-18 on the season.
Lay the points with Butler at home.
