We got some SEC basketball on tap for Wednesday night as Tennessee looks to build on their No. 1 seed candidacy with a home game against Georgia.
Tennessee has the best defense in the country according to many websites such as KenPom, and now they get to face a middling SEC group in Georgia, are they going to be able to cover the double digit spread?
Here are the odds for this SEC matchup:
Georgia vs. Tennessee odds, spread and total
Georgia vs. Tenesssee prediction and pick
Tennessee’s defense can put a vice grip on any offense in the country, and I see little issue against Georgia, a team that is 249th in the country in effective field goal percentage and 273rd in turnover percentage.
The Bulldogs have been improved under first year head coach at 13-6 on the year, but this team is going to struggle to keep up with the Vols. Tennessee’s offense has been humming in league play, posting a near-56% effective field goal percentage while hauling in 37% of available second chances (third in the SEC).
We saw last week Georgia keep up with Kentucky on the road for about 30 minutes before running out of answers and losing by 14, failing to cover. I think we see something similar on Wednesday and the Vols continue on their path to a top seed come Selection Sunday.
