General Hospital star Kelly Monaco lost her home in a fire that started after someone tossed a cigarette butt onto the property next door.
It was a very unlucky Friday the 13th for the soap actress who told TMZ she was asleep in her Sherman Oaks, Calif., home when she woke up to the fire raging in her backyard.
The house didn’t stand a chance and was soon engulfed in flames.
Monaco escaped unharmed.
The actress and Season 1 winner of Dancing With the Stars will be homeless for a while, as the blaze caused hundreds of thousands of dollars in damages, TMZ reported.
Arson investigators were able to determine the fire was started by someone flicking a lit cigarette butt on the empty lot next to Monaco’s home. They believe the fire was not started intentionally, however.
