Barangay Ginebra escaped San Miguel in overtime, 19-17, to rule Leg 1 of the PBA 3×3 First Conference Season 3 on Tuesday at Ayala Mall Manila Bay.
Donald Gumaru delivered the game-winning deuce that clinched the Leg 1 title for the Gin Kings. He had a team-best eight points in the final.
Kim Aurin had an all-around game of five points, five rebounds, and five assists including the set-up for Gumaru’s game winner.
Ralph Cu and Raphael Salcedo round out the scoring with four and two points, respectively for the Kings, who were coached by Kirk Collier.
All four Ginebra players are also part of the team’s roster in the ongoing PBA On Tour.
Meanwhile, the Beermen finished runner up after upsetting PBA 3×3 grand slam champion TNT and second seed Cavitex to reach the finals.
Cavitex beat Terrafirma for the battle for third place, 21-15.
Ken Ighalo topscored with eight points, while Tonino Gonzaga added six for the Braves, who bagged P30,000.
