Girls’ Generation will be celebrating their 15th debut anniversary with a new variety show!
As announced with their comeback news, Girls’ Generation will be starring in their own reality show for their 15th anniversary, ahead of their upcoming August comeback.
JTBC’s new variety show “So Shi Tam Tam” (literal title) will start airing at the beginning of July and showcase Girls’ Generation through a variety of formats, including reality, game show, and documentary. The program will be produced by producing director (PD) Jung Seung Il, who created JTBC’s “Battle Table” and Fin.K.L’s variety show “Camping Club.”
“So Shi Tam Tam” uses Girls’ Generation’s Korean nickname “So Shi” to put a fun spin on the phrase “Ho Shi Tam Tam,” which means to vigilantly await an opportunity.
The program’s producers commented, “This is a program that was planned with the concept of the members of Girls’ Generation, who have enviable levels of colorful talent and charm, attempting a wide range of variety content, regardless of genre. We believe that this will be an extremely special gift to fans who have loved our nation’s group Girls’ Generation for the past 15 years, as well as to viewers. Please look forward to the refreshing laughs that Girls’ Generation, the girl group we love, will convey this hot summer.”
The variety show will lead right up to Girls’ Generation’s long-awaited and highly-anticipated comeback this August, which will be their first full-group release in five years.
