GLAMOUR Tries: We’ve tried a glittery festive lip – and here’s how you can do it in 4 simple steps

There’s no better pastime than testing out the coolest new skincare/makeup/hair trends and snazzy innovations in beauty tech from the comfort of your own home. That said, there’s nothing more frustrating than spending upwards of £100 on a new at-home facial system or snazzy pair of hair straighteners, only to find out they don’t *actually* work.

Enter: GLAMOUR Tries, the weekly Instagram series which sees GLAMOUR editors do all of the time-consuming (and expensive) work for you.

Yep, we’ve been busy trying out all of the wacky and wonderful beauty crazes to take the internet (read: TikTok) by storm – from the YSL lipstick printer to Il Makiage’s iconic foundation and even the viral Hair Bedazzler tool from Amazon. These are the products every influencer/Gen-Z beauty sleuth/beauty editor is talking about on the internet – but that you want to be sure about before parting with your money.

Thanks to GLAMOUR Tries, you won’t need to waste your hard-earned pennies on testing these innovations yourself. We’re getting in there first, giving you the lowdown and ensuring you invest in products that genuinely work.

And this week, our Social Media Manager Luca Wetherby-Matthews tried creating a glittery festive lip look ahead of the holidays. The best part? There’s only 4 steps to follow, and they’re super simple – perfect for all of our fuss-free makeup girlies. For this look, Luca used the Huda Beauty Matte Liquid Lipstick, the Urban Decay Naked Cyber Eyeshadow Palette and the Lottie London Eyeshadow Palette.

First things first, she started by applying a red lip liner to ensure a more defined result. “This is super important when you’re doing red lipstick,” Luca noted.

The next step was to apply any regular red lipstick that you have at hand. “I’m taking the Huda Beauty liquid lipstick in Miss America, applying it all over and waiting for it to dry,” she shared.

She then proceeded to dab a glittery bronze-y shade from the Urban Decay Naked Cyber Eyeshadow Palette to add a bit of ‘zhuzh’ and dimension to the whole look.

“I’m then going in with the rose gold eyeshadow that packs a bit more punch from this Lottie London palette and centering in the middle of my lips for a pout-y effect,” she said. “And that is all you have to do! So easy.”
