There’s no better pastime than testing out the coolest new skincare/makeup/hair trends and snazzy innovations in beauty tech from the comfort of your own home. That said, there’s nothing more frustrating than spending upwards of £100 on a new at-home facial system or snazzy pair of hair straighteners, only to find out they don’t *actually* work.
Enter: GLAMOUR Tries, the weekly Instagram series which sees GLAMOUR editors do all of the time-consuming (and expensive) work for you.
Yep, we’ve been busy trying out all of the wacky and wonderful beauty crazes to take the internet (read: TikTok) by storm – from the YSL lipstick printer to Il Makiage’s iconic foundation and even the viral Hair Bedazzler tool from Amazon. These are the products every influencer/Gen-Z beauty sleuth/beauty editor is talking about on the internet – but that you want to be sure about before parting with your money.
Thanks to GLAMOUR Tries, you won’t need to waste your hard-earned pennies on testing these innovations yourself. We’re getting in their first, giving you the lowdown and ensuring you invest in products that genuinely work.
And this week, our Website Director Ali Pantony tried the viral brow stamp technique to see if it lives up to the hype. If you’re unfamiliar, brow stamping has been making rounds on TikTok due to how convenient and time-efficient the method is. Seriously, imagine having your brow makeup sorted in a matter of seconds. Crazy, right?
To test out the hack, Ali tried the MADLUVV 1-Step Brow Stamp & Shaping Kit, which is sold on Amazon at £37. And while the price might be intimidating at first glance, if you actually consider its prolonged use and the time that you’re going to save trying to get your brows to be even, this product provides good value.
“They send you all these different sizes of stencils and you just choose one that you think matches your brow shape and then stamp over it,” Ali explains.
“You can choose between 7 different shades and five different stencil shapes. I went for ‘blonde’ and shape 5,” she adds.
“You just hold the stencil over your natural brow shape, twist the sponge inside the cap and get stamping!,” she says as she proceeds to apply the product.
“OK, I’m super impressed with how defined these look and how easy the stamp was to use. And I’m terrible at brows, so if I can do it – anyone can,” she concludes.
