Indiana Jones superfans from Glasgow have started gearing up for the film’s release after the trailer for the blockbuster was released.
The trailer for the latest instalment of the franchise, which was first shown at Brazil Comic Con on Thursday, shows St Vincent Street in the city centre decked out with US flags as it takes on the role of New York City.
While the film is not due to be released until June 30 next year, it hasn’t stopped superfan father and daughter duo Isla and her dad Alastair Neil as little Indiana Jones and Henry Jones Sr.
The pair, who were guests at this year’s Comic Con Scotland, caught the attention of Pinewood studio executives and were invited behind the scenes to watch some filming of Indiana Jones 5.
Isla’s Batgirl cosplay had also previously won the hearts of Batgirl directors while filming in Glasgow and they gave her a cameo role in the movie.
Since the trailer’s release, Isla has watched it several times, pointing out the parade chase that they had been invited to watch.
Alastair said: “We are both excited for the release next year, we intend to go down to London for the premiere as Isla wants to try and catch a glimpse of Harrison Ford.
“It’s her birthday just before the release so here’s hoping we will see him.
“We will of course be in costume and we will be seeing the movie in Glasgow in costume when it’s released.”
The new film, the fifth in the Indiana Jones series, has been titled The Dial of Destiny.
It is expected to be the final Indiana Jones film, with the first, Raiders of the Lost Ark, having been released in 1981.
The Dial of Destiny is the first time that the iconic Jones has appeared on the big screen since the last film in the series, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, which came out in 2008.
