Glazed French tips are coming to steal the crown off of this summer’s undisputed top nail trend. There’s no denying that glazed donut nails broke the beauty internet, with Hailey Bieber’s signature pearl-pink almond-shaped mani spearheading the trend after she wore them on the Met Gala red carpet, and posed with them alongside an actual glazed donut for the campaign shots of her Rhode Beauty brand.
So far #glazeddonutnails have pulled in over 64 million views on TikTok, with everyone from Vanessa Hudgens and JLo, to our mates, also nailing the look. Essie even brought out their Iced Out Filter top coat so we could recreate the look at home.
But moving forward, there’s a sophisticated spin off that combines the famous glazed chrome aesthetic with another favourite mani trend, the classic Frenchie. Glazed French tips are the glazed donut’s sophisticated lil sis, and they’re perfect if you fancy a subtler nod to the trend.
“At the moment I am loving a super sheer pink base with a soft glazed French tip,” luxury nail artist, Harriet Westmoreland, whose clients include Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Zendaya, told GLAMOUR. “After applying a sheer pink base I keep the tip clear and apply a thin layer of chrome powder.”

Applied to short squoval nails, the pretty mani feels beautifully low-key. And we’ve seen the look spotted on Sydney Sweeney, too. Nail artist, Zola Ganzorigt, who created the original trending glazed donut mani for Hailey, is the mastermind behind Sydney’s gorgeous ombre glazed French tip (swipe across to see it in detail).
