Affected vehicles include the Chevrolet Suburban and Tahoe, the GMC Yukon, and the Cadillac Escalade from model years 2021 and 2022, according to an Associated Press report.
In affected vehicles, the rivets holding the buckle to its mounting bracket on both the left and right sides of the third-row seats may have a defect in their manufacture that could lead to passengers not being restrained properly in a crash, the automaker wrote to U.S. safety regulators.
No injuries or crashes have been tied to the issue. Dealers will inspect the rivet heads and, if needed, replace the seatbelt buckle assemblies.
