The gift bag he received – which contained a movie ticket, a Starbucks tumbler, candy, a lanyard and pens – went viral with most people thinking he deserved so much more. So his daughter, Seryna, launched a GoFundMe page for her hard-working dad.
Kevin Ford, 60, began working at the fast-food restaurant as a single father who had gained custody of his two daughters, Seryna explains on the page.
Ford remained with the company after he remarried and the family grew “because of the amazing health insurance” that got his four daughters through high school and college.
“My dad continues to work here, because though he does look young, he is coming up on retirement age and leaving would cost him his retirement,” Seryna added.

Those watching the video felt that Ford deserved far more.
“I was grateful for anything,” Ford told NewsNationNow. “There’s people I have worked with for 20 or 30 years and they didn’t get anything. I am happy with anything.”
Of the goodie bag, Ford was even thankful that he received that.
“The generosity of these people is just overwhelming,” he said. “I’ve been crying for three days now. I can’t believe it. I really can’t.”
Ford couldn’t explain how he has never missed a shift.

“I don’t know how I did that! Maybe I’m a robot?,” he joked, adding, “I just never thought about taking a day off. I just try to work as hard as I can, whatever I do.”
The outpouring of support astonished the family, with the fundraising now surpassing $157,000 since Tuesday.
Seryna has updated the goal several times over.
“I’m stunned!! This is incredible!,” Seryna wrote in one update. “You are all so generous! I really can’t believe any of this!!”
Even actor-comedian David Spade donated $5,000 to Ford, TMZ reported, writing in a DM on Instagram, “Keep up the good work.”
When Ford replied that he might actually be able to take a day off yet, Spade offered up some great advice: “Wait till year 30.”
