It’s sad news on the Gogglebox front, as a fan favourite couple has quit.
Marcus Luther and Mica Ven have announced their departure from the Channel 4 show after five years making us laugh with their hilarious reactions and couple’s banter.
Explaining their reasons for walking away from Gogglebox, they shared that they intend to see ‘what else God has in store’ for them.
Marcus and Mica said in a statement: ‘We’ve had so much fun with you all tuning in at home and the hardworking Gogglebox crew’s but it’s time to put down the remote and see what else God has in store for us.’
They have also thanked fans of the show for their support.
‘To everyone that has tuned in and sent us messages of love and encouragement over the years, we appreciate every last one of you. Thank you so much.’
Mica later shared a silly selfie to her Instagram page, saying their time on the show has been ‘an epic journey.’
‘To the amazing cast, you’ll forever be our G’box brothers & sisters 4life,’ she added.
Some of Marcus and Mica’s co-stars have already sent their best wishes to the couple, proving that Gogglebox really is one big family.
Twaine Plummer commented: ‘????????????❤️❤️❤️ wish all the best in the future’.
Elsewhere, Izzi Warner admitted to being sorry to see them leave the show: ‘We’ll miss you both!!❤️❤️❤️❤️’
Marcus and Mica have become firm favourites with Gogglebox viewers over recent years.
But, Marcus previously claimed that he hates being recognised by members of the public.
He explained: ‘I avoid being recognised like the plague. I’ll have my mask and a hat on and people will still say, “Look at the eyes, it’s Marcus from Gogglebox!”, And I’m like, “For f***’s sake!”.’
Meanwhile, Mica jokingly compared herself to Kim K herself following her taste of fame.
‘If I cover my locks, I get recognised less. The locks are a giveaway. I don’t think I’ll ever get properly used to it.
‘Sometimes, I feel like one of the Kardashians.’
Gogglebox airs Fridays at 9pm on Channel 4.
