Goldman Sachs CEO DJs while fans dance in silence at BottleRock

David Solomon is the CEO of Goldman Sachs and, as such, ranks as a true titan in the business/financial world.

Yet, that’s definitely not the hat he was wearing on Day 3 (Sunday, May 29) at BottleRock Napa Valley.

This CEO, who moonlights as a DJ, came to spin tunes and delight hundreds of music lovers at the three-day festival in downtown Napa.

From the outside looking in, however, this was a very different looking DJ dance party. Yes, the DJ was working the booth, the fancy light/video show was in full effect and the people were boogeying with gusto — but it was all happening in pretty much complete silence.

There was no music to be heard as you approached the DJ area — except what was bleeding over from the other stages where Pink and Luke Combs were performing.

That’s because Solomon was spinning at the festival’s Silent Disco, where people don headphones and then the music is transmitted straight to their ears. It’s a brilliant concept and one that has definitely found a home at BottleRock.

I put on a pair of headphones and joined the party for a bit, while otherwise splitting my evening between Combs and Pink, and really enjoyed the energetic mix that Solomon was offering up.

This is the second year in a row that Solomon — who use to perform under the stage name DJ D Sol — has spun at BottleRock. He also performed in 2021.

And Solomon seems to be catching on with other festivals/promoters as well.
