TL;DR

  • Google has launched a new Beta Tester Hub for Chrome OS.
  • Anyone who signs up will be able to try out or get a sneak peek at new features.
  • Google is offering swag to the first 500 people that download the latest beta version.

Have you ever wanted to try out new Chrome OS features before anyone else? Or maybe you’re just interested in knowing about what’s in store for the future of Chrome OS? If you said yes to either of those questions, you may be interested in trying out Google’s new Chrome OS Beta Tester Hub.

Before, Google would allow users to test out beta versions through different channels. Now the company is making its beta testing a little more visible and accessible. In an announcement released earlier today, Google says it has launched a brand new Beta Tester Hub.

The new hub is open to the public and is aimed at helping Google find and fix bugs. As a result, the company is encouraging those who want to participate to sign up and provide feedback.

Google states that the hub “will be updated with details about Beta features to test each new Beta milestone release.” These milestones happen about every four weeks. Additionally, there will apparently be an exclusive section of the hub meant only for Gold Plus Product Experts. Anyone in the gold tier will get details about features that are early in development.

It seems that the company is eager to get people to jump on board and is offering some incentives to sign up. One such incentive will allow participants to get unspecified Google swag. However, this is only for the first 500 people who download the latest beta version and sign up to be a Product Expert on the Chrome OS Beta community. They’re also offering the opportunity to meet with the Chrome OS Product team.

This announcement comes on the heels of Google announcing the Steam on Chrome OS beta that made the service available to more Chromebooks.
