FAMILIES planning a trip to Thorpe Park when it reopens can take advantage of half-price tickets to the theme park.

The cheap deal is being offered by Planet Offers, with single entry tickets costing just £27.50 instead of £55.

That is also cheaper than pre-booking tickets online which currently cost £35 per person.

This means families of four could save £110 if booking via the deal, instead of saving £80 via the website.

The voucher can be used from March 25 when the park re-opens and is valid until June 24.

The ticket can’t be used from April 15 to April 18, however, as this is during the Easter bank holiday, nor during any of the closed dates in May.

There are lots of reasons to be excited for Thorpe Park’s reopening, with it being home to Stealth, the fastest rollercoaster in the UK and The Swarm, the only winged coaster in the UK.

Water rides including the 85ft Tidal Wave and the Rumba Rapids will also be welcoming guests once again, along with Saw – The Ride, which was the first horror-themed rollercoaster in the world.

Also reopening is the park’s Shark Cabins, with nautical-themed rooms at the Thorpe Park Hotel where families can stay at the park overnight, before heading to the rides early the next day.

Thorpe Park is even reportedly planning to build the largest rollercoaster in the UK by 2024.

The plans for the monster rollercoaster – reportedly codenamed Project Exodus – were unveiled at a presentation for local residents last year.

The 72m high rollercoaster would become the tallest ride in the UK, beating Blackpool Pleasure Beach’s The Big One which is 65m and has held the record since it was built in 1994.

Here are some of the other exciting new rides and rollercoasters opening in the UK this year.
