The Grizzlies bolstered their roster this week, acquiring Marcus Smart in a three-team trade involving the Celtics and Wizards.
Smart will give the Grizzlies a guard capable of leading the backcourt during Ja Morant’s 25-game suspension. This past season, he averaged 11.5 points and 6.3 assists per game for the Celtics.
A few hours before the Celtics agreed to trading Smart to the Grizzlies, the team’s official Twitter account posted a video about the former Defensive Player of the Year.
“Nobody hustles harder than Marcus Smart,” the Celtics tweeted on Wednesday.
On Friday, the Grizzlies responded to this tweet from the Celtics. They replied, “say less.”

Smart was reportedly stunned by this week’s trade. A source close to Smart said the trade was a “gut punch” and “complete shock” to him.
It’s understandable that Smart feels betrayed by the Celtics. He has played for Boston his entire NBA career.
Only time will tell if the Celtics made the right decision moving on from Smart.
