A video of a clash that broke out between the students of a private university in Greater Noida inside the campus earlier this week went viral on social media. In the video, two large groups can be seen involved in a skirmish inside the college building.
Police said the brawl broke out at Greater Noida’s Galgotias University after an argument between a couple of students over entering the building lift. The fight took place between first and second-year students of the university on Tuesday, they said.
“The video that surfaced online on Friday was of Tuesday’s clash. Some of the students have been suspended. We have not received any complaint in this regard, but the college administration is in touch with us and is taking appropriate action,” a senior officer at Dankaur police station said.
“Inquiry found that the clash broke out over entering the lift among students after which the argument turned violent,” the officer stated.
He said that guardians of the students were also summoned by the university administration. The university administration couldn’t be reached for a comment immediately.
