Group tied to Stanford Health Care buys huge Pleasanton office park

PLEASANTON — A group affiliated with Stanford Health Care has bought a big office park in Pleasanton in a deal that could accommodate an expansion for the medical services titan.

Hospital Committees for the Livermore Pleasanton Areas and Stanford Health Care – ValleyCare have bought the five-building Hacienda Lakes office complex in Pleasanton, according to documents filed on July 1 with the Alameda County Recorder’s Office.

The Stanford-led health care organizations paid $58.4 million for the office park, the county property records show.

The Hacienda Lakes office center is bounded by Willow Road, Inglewood Drive, Hacienda Drive and Gibraltar Drive. Its addresses are 4234 and 4256 Hacienda Drive; 4457 and 4473 Willow Road; and 5568 Gibraltar Drive, according to a marketing brochure for the property circulated by CBRE, a commercial real estate firm.

The seller was Schnitzer Properties, an Oregon-based real estate development and investment firm.

“Hacienda Lakes has a beautiful setting, very park-like, easy access and plentiful parking,” said Jeffrey Weil, an executive vice president with Colliers, a commercial real estate firm.

Weil said that he’s represented a number of tenants over the years that leased space in Hacienda Lakes.

This news organization reached out to Stanford Health Care to request comment regarding the property deal.

In 2015, Stanford Health Care acquired ValleyCare Health System at a time when ValleyCare was seeking a partner to remedy the East Bay health organization’s financial difficulties. ValleyCare became a subsidiary of Stanford Health Care as a result of the transaction.

The Hacienda Lakes property would be an excellent location for Stanford Health Care if the organization decides to use the site for an expansion of its East Bay operations, Weil said.

“The baby boomer generation is ensuring a high future demand for health care,” Weil said.
