Guardiola hit out at UEFA and FIFA for their fixture organisation following Saturday’s final win over Inter. He admitted he is not yet thinking about his plans for next season, a comment which worried some City fans.
Guardiola told BT Sport: “Right now I don’t have any energy to think about the next season – it is impossible. All of us need a break, the season is too long.
“Most of these guys go to their national teams to play games, so honestly, UEFA, FIFA, think about it. They finished the Premier League what, two weeks ago? They come back from their holidays having played too many games.
“These guys will have two or three weeks off and start again next season. We demand and push them and push them, it’s too much.”
