“[We faced a] back five, Vardy’s with the holding midfielder [Rodri], four players in the middle close to the back five in the 18-yard box. It’s literally… there’s no space,” the Catalan said.
“We can do it in transition with the movement but we are not an exceptional team for the runners from behind or from the second action. That’s why we had to be patient and don’t get frustrated, don’t concede counter-attacks or give free-kicks or corners.
“Maddison is a master in this position but we defend really well. And at the end when we should keep the ball, we were of course trying to increase the rhythm. We played with low rhythm and that’s why we suffer.”
