H. Moser & Cie Introduces An Endeavour Timepiece That Comes Complete With A Virtual World

H. Moser & Cie has created a new virtual dimension for the launch of it’s most modern timepiece yet, and it combines virtual reality with Swiss tradition and craftsmanship. The watch, and the concept, are dubbed Genesis, or 01100111 01100101 01101110 01100101 01110011 01101001 01110011, as it is written in binary code. The Endeavour Center Seconds Genesis is a limited edition of 50 pieces. It has a three-dimensional printed titanium crown and bezel, which appear pixelated. The case is microblasted steel, and the dial is Vantablack, the blackest black coating that Moser pioneered the use of for watch dials.

Each Genesis timepiece bears a unique QR code engraved on its sapphire crystal, so it basically assumes the position of a dial. It is this code that authenticates watch ownership, allowing customers to access complete traceability and transparency through the watch’s lifecycle from certification, warranty and insurance. It also gives the owner privileged access to the Moser’s new digital and virtual ecosystem, which means accessibility to purchase future limited editions, exclusive invitations to brand launch events, and membership in the Moser community.

Genesis is being touted as a “complete ecosystem” that offers not only blockchain product authentication and digital asset ownership but allows entry into the new metaverse space, inviting customers to step into a Moser universe supported by a mix of tradition and latest technologies. Visitors can check out the history of the brand and the manufacture in a new dimension. The metaverse space is designed as a modern, minimalist Swiss chalet, with classic references to Switzerland and the Moser brand, such as the Rhine Falls (Rheinfall), where the manufacture is headquartered. Visitors can assume an avatar to enter the space. The watch is priced in Swiss francs at CHF 27,000 (roughly the equivalent in U.S. dollars). It contains the automatic caliber HMC 200, with a three-day power reserve.
