Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has admitted Manchester City have made a ‘really good signing’ in the form of Erling Haaland.
City announced they have reached an agreement in principle to sign the Norwegian hotshot from Borussia Dortmund. It’s reported the Premier League side will pay £53million for his services.
Haaland joins an already incredible City side, who are in pole position to retain their Premier League crown this season.
talkSPORT’s Jason Cundy suggested Haaland could make Pep Guardiola’s side an ‘unstoppable’ force, and Liverpool boss Klopp is in no doubt the 21-year-old will be a success at the Etihad Stadium.
“Good player, good player,” Klopp said on City signing Haaland after the Reds’ win at Aston Villa.
“But City was never and never will be a team that wins games because of one player.
“They have a specific way to play and I think Erling will realise all of a sudden that he will score a lot of goals on the second post… he will love that.
“He’s a real beast. He was injured a couple of times with Dortmund but when he’s fit he’s a real beast.
“So unfortunately, it’s a really good signing.”
The Reds boast a plethora of top attacking talent, however, Jamie O’Hara believes need to respond to the Premier League leaders’ signing of Haaland in the summer.
When Sports Bar co-host Darren Ambrose asked if Liverpool need a new no.9, or ‘an Mbappe’ as he put it, O’Hara responded: “Yeah, I think so.
“Diogo Jota’s been brilliant for them but he’s gone off the boil this season, hasn’t he?
“Liverpool need to react to Haaland. They have to react to Haaland.”
