Hailey Bieber has an ovarian cyst ‘the size of an apple’… and it’s not her first

Sending all our love and strength to Hailey Bieber. The model and skincare company founder recently revealed that after a year of health troubles, she’s struggling once again, this time with an ovarian cyst the size of an apple. Ouch.

“I have a cyst on my ovary the size of an apple,” Hailey wrote on her Instagram Stories, in which she shared a mirror selfie exposing her stomach, which is ever so slightly swollen below the navel. “I don’t have endometriosis or PCOS [polycystic ovarian syndrome] but I have gotten an ovarian cyst a few times and it’s never fun,” explaining that the small bump on her abdomen was “not a baby.”

“It’s painful and achey and makes me feel nauseous and bloated and crampy and emotional,” she said. “Anyway… I’m sure a lot of you can overly relate and understand. We got this.”

According to the NHS website, most cysts are benign, and as long as they don’t rupture, many go away on their own, or else can be removed using a fairly noninvasive surgery. Still, sucks to have them! (The rest of Hailey’s Insta Stories were celebrating her Forbes 30 Under 30 cover, so she is, like, doing okay in life.)

This is far from the first health issue Hailey Bieber has had to deal with in 2022. In March, the Rhode founder suffered “stroke-like” symptoms and had to be hospitalised due to a blood clot in her brain. “You can’t really control much,” her husband, Justin Bieber, said at a concert following this scare. “Most of you probably know or [have] seen the news about my wife…she’s okay, she’s good, she’s strong. But it’s been scary, you know, like, it’s been really scary.” Then, in June, Justin had to cancel tour dates because half of his face had become paralysed due to Ramsay Hunt syndrome. Here’s hoping this couple has a very healthy 2023!
