Hailey Bieber kicks off ‘best summer of my life’ in a string bikini and nostalgic wet T-shirt

Hailey Bieber is ready to have the best summer of her life.

The 26-year-old model recently dipped into summer in a maroon string bikini and a soaked “got milk?” t-shirt, instantly transporting her millennial followers back to spring break circa 1999—the era of wet t-shirt contests and Britney Spears’ iconic dairy ad campaign. She paired the nostalgic look with her signature glowy skin and an equally drenched bob.

“All I know is, I’m about to have the best summer of my life,” Bieber captioned the series of photos and video on Instagram on May 27, featuring Bieber sunbathing on a boat, sunbathing on a paddleboard, and reapplying what I presume (and hope) to be sunscreen. You know, to protect her skin from all that sunbathing.

Hopefully, this does turn out to be the best summer of Hailey Bieber’s life because 2023 has been off to a rocky start. In March, the model sparked months of backlash after being accused of making fun of Selena Gomez during a FaceTime with Kylie Jenner. In April, Bieber described that period of time as “some of the saddest, hardest moments” of her adult life. “I like to make jokes about how I feel because sometimes it’s easier than admitting I’m having a hard time,” she wrote on Instagram Stories. “My mind and emotions have been fragile to say the least.”

Earlier this month, Bieber told The Sunday Times that she is hesitant to start a family with her husband Justin Bieber due to online hate. “I literally cry about this all the time,” she said, per People. “I want kids so bad but I get scared. It’s enough that people say things about my husband or my friends. I can’t imagine having to confront people saying things about a child.” She continued, “We can only do the best we can to raise them. As long as they feel loved and safe.”

Bieber specifically recalled the response to her mini stroke in March 2022. “The day after I was hospitalised, it was on the internet,” she said, per People. “I wanted to talk about what happened in my own words because so many people were making assumptions.”

She continued, “If you let things like that silence you, you’re allowing people to dictate how you live your life. Sometimes I do just want to curl up and be a hermit, like, ‘If this is how people feel, maybe I should just stay home.’ But I’m really not that kind of person.”
