Danielle Harris hopes to see Jamie Lloyd return in a new Halloween film for her final showdown with the Boogeyman.
Horror genre favorite Danielle Harris is a major player in the Halloween franchise, having appeared in four separate films across two different timelines. She made her debut in the franchise as a child star when she appeared in the 1988 sequel, Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers. Because Jamie Lee Curtis was not ready to return to the series yet for the fourth film, a new protagonist was needed, which was the cue for Harris to enter the fray as young but resilient survivor Jamie Lloyd. Harris later reprised the role for 1989’s Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers.
Rob Zombie was among those who appreciated Harris’ place in the series and brought her back in a new role for his 2007 reboot. In that film, she played Annie Brackett, the character played by Nancy Kyes in the original movie. Annie managed to survive the reboot, giving the chance for Harris to take on her fourth Halloween movie by coming back as Annie in 2009’s Halloween II.
Recently, Harris took a moment to reflect upon her time in the franchise for the 15th anniversary of Zombie’s reboot. She posted a message on Instagram along with some behind-the-scenes photos noting how that movie helped her realize that her place in life was in the horror genre. She goes on to tease one more “final showdown” between Jamie Lloyd and Michael Myers, suggesting that this could be where the next inevitable reboot will go.
“15 years ago this weekend my career changed the rest of my lives path. I was stuck in a career that was struggling not knowing who I was supposed to be when it had been chosen for me 35 years ago…I just was too young to understand it. Thank you (Rob Zombie and Malek Akkad) for making that happen. I’m forever grateful to all my fans for welcoming me back into the ‘Halloween’ franchise with so much love and support. I LOVE the horror community and the forever friends I’ve been making along the way! Now we just need to bring ‘Jamie’ back for a final showdown with the Boogeyman…”
Jamie Lloyd’s Mom Will Have Her Own Final Showdown With Michael Myers
Meanwhile, Jamie’s mom is gearing up for her own final battle with Michael Myers, even if it’s not the same timeline. Jamie Lee Curtis returns as Laurie Strode in Halloween Ends to help finally conclude the feud between the two that has spanned for longer than four decades.
No matter how it ends, it will probably be the last we will see of Curtis in a Halloween film. The franchise will no doubt live on with Michael Myers coming back in another reboot, given the continued popularity of the series. As Danielle Harris has suggested, one interesting way to go would be to do another legacy sequel that takes us back to the Halloween 4 & 5 timeline, giving us an adult Jamie Lloyd going to battle with the Boogeyman.
Halloween Ends will hit theaters and Peacock on Oct. 14, 2022.
