Ted Lasso actress and Eurovision host Hannah Waddingham has been made to feel insecure about her height throughout her career — or at least, she was until she was cast in the feel-good sports comedy.
Speaking on The View chat show, after the series finale recently aired, she credited the show for helping her let go of insecurities about being tall.

“Being a woman who’s not small, very tall, I had always struggled,” said Hannah, who is 5’11”. The actress explained how previously she had been turned down for roles due to male actors being taller than her. But when it came to auditioning for Ted Lasso, Jason Sudeikis didn’t see it as an issue — because, it’s not!
“When I went in for this, Jason was like, ‘I don’t care if she wears four-inch heels. Let’s do it,’” Hannah explained of her co-star.
The actress also made reference to the fact that her age of 45 often seems to influence people’s decision to cast her: sigh. She explained: “The fact that [Jason] was just like, ‘No, I don’t care that she’s taller than me,’ that is a completely unique situation to find yourself in: where the man is so generous that they want to raise you up and to celebrate everything that you are, and not that you’re some skinny mini.”
If you’re going to miss her face on the Apple show, don’t worry, as it’s set to be a major 2024 for Hannah Waddingham, as she has a string of upcoming movie roles. Look out for her in Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt’s The Fall Guy, Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part Two and Garfield.
Be more Jason please, men in Hollywood.
