NEW YORK — A man who was assaulted while working at a store in Harlem is speaking out, hoping the public can help find his attacker.

Shivpersaud Kowlessar, 59, was hit in the face while working at a variety store on Third Avenue near 117th Street in Harlem on Thursday morning.

The suspect was caught on camera and was last seen walking away on Third Avenue.

Kowlessar has managed the store for years and says he was helping the suspect find curtains when the man made verbal threats and sucker-punched him.

“All he was saying, ‘I want to beat you up. Come outside, I want to beat you up.’ So I don’t know what was his motive,” he said.

Kowlessar suffered a cut and swelling to his right eye.
