Harley-Davidson’s X440 will be launched in India on Monday, July 3, 2023. Touted as the most-affordable Harley-Davidson bike in India, the X440 is co-developed by the US motorcycle maker with Hero MotoCorp. This marks the second attempt by the American bike maker at breaking Eicher Motors subsidiary Royal Enfield’s stronghold in the middle-weight segment.

Here are key things to know about the much-anticipated launch of the Harley-Davidson X440:

Key rivals: The X440 is set to rival the likes of the Royal Enfield Classic 350 and the Honda H’ness CB350 in India.

Sneak peak: The company has already released a glimpse of the X440 in video and photo formats.

Features: The all-new X440 will have dual rear shocks, upside-down front forks and disc brakes on both wheels.

Style: As per the images, the X440 will have a round headlight with integrated Harley-Davidson branding, a single-pod instrument cluster, a flat handlebar, a side-slung exhaust, machined alloy wheels, and retro-style round indicators, among other features.

RPM: The 440cc, single-cylinder, oil- and air-cooled engine of the Harley-Davidson X440 is widely expected to have an 8,000 rpm redline. The redline determines the maximum reading one can reach on the RPM meter without harming the vehicle.

Power: The output numbers should be close to 30 horsepower and 35 Nm, according to experts.

Estimated price: The Harley-Davidson X440 is clearly set to be the most-affordable Harley-Davidson in India so far. It is expected to have a sticker price of Rs 2.5 lakh- 3 lakh (ex-showroom).
Rival prices: To put the estimated price of the X440 into perspective, the Royal Enfield Classic 350, which is likely to be its direct opponent, is priced ar Rs. 1.9 lakh-2.2 lakh (ex-showroom).
