Harmanpreet will be in action on day one of the event when she turns out for Trent Rockets against Southern Brave, at Trent Bridge, Nottingham. In an Instagram video post on Saturday, the India skipper said: “Hi guys, this is Harmanpreet Kaur. Just arrived in Trent Bridge. We’ve a game on the 1st. Come and watch us. Thank you.”
Apart from her, three other top players of the Indian women’s team – vice-captain Smriti Mandhana, Jemima h Rodrigues and Richa Ghosh will play in The Hundred.
Harmanpreet’s suspension applies to international games, which means that she won’t be available for the first two games (quarterfinal & semifinal) of the Asian Games in China. She has played in The Hundred for Manchester Originals in the past.
Shaw gets visa, flies off to UK for maiden county stint
After an inordinate delay, Prithvi Shaw has finally received his UK visa, which will enable him to begin his maiden stint in County cricket, with Northamptonshire.
“Shaw received his UK visa on Saturday and flew to England via Dubai on Sunday. He will make his County debut for the Northants’ on Friday in a Royal London One-Day Championship match against Gloucestershire a t Cheltenham,” a reliable source told TOI.
The Mumbaikar was supposed to join Northamptonshire after the conclusion of the Duleep Trophy, and missed the ongoing Deodhar Trophy, before a delay in getting the UK visa kept him waiting for longer than he would’ve expected.
Three former India captains of repute-Bishan Singh Bedi, Sourav Ganguly and Anil Kumble have represented the Northants in the past.
