Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will lose their relevance and lose their top billing as they start drifting from their royal connections, a royal expert has claimed.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been accused of relying on their ties to the Royal Family to promote their brand and causes.
Robert Hardman, journalist and royal expert, told Write Royalty: “I think their brand depends entirely on their royal status and their royal connections, and therefore that’s what they are going to have to trade on, however much they say otherwise.”
Details in Prince Harry’s upcoming memoir is what people will “want to know about” over the “worthy charitable activity”, according to the expert.
But Hardman believes this won’t be enough to start a “slow process” of receding “from top billing on the news agenda”.
In other Sussex news, Prince Charles “will need” Prince Harry and Meghan Markle when he becomes king because the Sussexes are highly valuable to the UK, a royal expert has claimed.
On Tuesday (May 10), the Prince of Wales attended the Opening of State Parliament on behalf of the monarch, which gave a glimpse of what life could be like under his reign.

His attendance marked the first time that he has represented the Queen in this way, as he was accompanied by Camilla and Prince William, who are both set to take on central roles in his desired slimmed down monarchy.
With his kingship starting to come into clearer focus, royal biographer Tina Brown believes that Meghan and Harry could return to the firm, reports Daily Express.
The author of ‘The Palace Papers’ told the podcast Royally Obsessed: “My guess is Charles is really going to want them back — sort of need them back actually — because Harry and Meghan were huge assets to the whole royal repertoire quite frankly.
“They had a young appeal that was very, very potent in the country.”
Representatives for the Sussexes have been contacted for comment.
