Harry Kane subject to fresh Bayern Munich bid as final price decided

Tottenham ace Harry Kane has reportedly been the subject of a fresh bid from Bayern Munich as the German giants attempt to prise him away from north London for under £70million this summer. Kane has just one year remaining on his current deal at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with a move to Munich appearing to be his most realistic hope of a transfer if he wants to quit Spurs during the current window.

Kane enjoyed a remarkable season last time out as he bagged a staggering 30 goals in 38 Premier League appearances. His endeavours meant he equalled his Premier League record goals tally for a single campaign after he also struck 30 times during the 2017/18 season ahead of the World Cup in Russia.

Kane had been attracting attention from Manchester United earlier this summer, with Erik ten Hag keen to take the 29-year-old to Old Trafford. But Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is reluctant to sell the ace to a rival team in the Premier League.

Bayern reportedly put forward a £56m bid for Kane at the end of last month. And, according to the Daily Mail, the Bundesliga champions have come back in with a new offer that might reach £68m. Bayern view a centre forward signing as a must this summer, with Kane now regarded by manager Thomas Tuchel as his team’s No 1 target. And the German boss wants the transfer settled quickly.

Tuchel has acquired more power at the Allianz Arena following the departure of sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic and is understood to have convinced Kane and his family of the merits of playing in Munich. The six-time European champions would ensure Kane, wife Katie and their three children are integrated into the German city’s community when it comes to schools, houses, language and practical support.

But Tottenham are not about to change their stance on their star player and currently have no expectations that he will leave the club before the end of his contract. In fact, it would likely take an offer beyond any figure Bayern are willing to pay to persuade Levy to cash in on the England captain.

Kane has become one of the best strikers in Premier League history and is now only 48 goals shy of breaking Alan Shearer’s all-time goalscoring record after the ex-Newcastle striker bagged 260 goals in the competition during his playing days.

But Kane is yet to win a trophy throughout his illustrious career. And if he could persuade Levy to accept an offer from Bayern, the player would be confident of finally getting his hands on silverware next season as Tuchel’s side have won the Bundesliga title for the last 11 years in a row.
