Deadline released an exclusive trailer on the second season of Fantastic Friends. The travel series’ clip offers glimpses into the magical escapades awaiting Harry Potter stars James Phelps and Oliver Phelps, better known as the Phelps twins, and their companions.
The first season, which celebrated significant success, saw the brothers unite with different guests in each episode for unique, intimate experiences. With the promise of the continuation of this fascinating format, Season 2 promises to further quench fans’ thirst for connection and adventure.
However, it’s time to discard any fantastical illusions, as the trailer frankly informs us that the Phelps twins are not real redheads nor genuine wizards. Instead, the siblings are seen involved in a multitude of adrenaline-filled activities such as flying inverted in miniature aircraft, exploring the undersea wonders through snorkeling, and even operating locomotives.
The new season not only features returning Harry Potter stars such as Matthew Lewis, Stanislav Yanevski, Mark Williams, Natalia Tena, and Alfred Enoch, but it also introduces viewers to a fresh roster of special guests.
The trailer highlights Alfie Allen from Game of Thrones, Genesis Rodriguez from The Umbrella Academy, and Corey Mylchreest from Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story. The trailer offers viewers snippets of camaraderie among the cast members, indicating that the bonds formed during the filming of the Harry Potter series persist to this day.
Season 2 Teases Exciting Journeys with Star-Studded Guests
The inaugural season of Fantastic Friends showcased numerous familiar faces, including Harry Potter‘s Bonnie Wright, Luke Youngblood, and Evanna Lynch, alongside Maisie Williams from Game of Thrones, Haley Joel Osment from The Sixth Sense, and Sophie Skelton from Outlander.
Speaking on his experiences from the previous season, Oliver Phelps shared, “Seeing the world with your brother and some friends is the perfect combination.” He also expressed the aim to make the audience feel part of the thrilling journey.
“One thing we always wanted was for the audience to feel like they are on the journey with us. We wanted to show not just the nice parts of travel but felt it was important to include parts people may forget – the early starts, long days, getting lost – it’s all in there.”
The twin James added,
“Fantastic Friends was Oliver’s brainchild, but we found out straight away that our friends who joined us for season one were fully behind it. We always wanted their input into activities and the places we went to.”
Though the official release date and streaming information for Fantastic Friends Season 2 are yet to be announced, fans can anticipate its arrival based on the first season’s distribution across several platforms including The CW, Crave in Canada, TVNZ in New Zealand, and Max in EMEA. Daniel Sharp, known for Billy & Dom Eat The World and Vikings: The Rise and Fall, lends his expertise to this project, producing and directing alongside the UK’s Dash Pictures.
The enchanting trailer invites viewers to embark on an interactive game, challenging them to identify as many familiar faces as they can. More details on the series’ forthcoming episodes will be available, ensuring fans can plan for their next visual rendezvous with the ‘Fantastic Friends’ crew.
