Harry Styles has pledged $1 million to a gun safety group in the wake of last week’s mass shooting in Uvalde, Texas that left 19 students and two teachers dead.

The pop star’s donation to Everytown for Gun Safety Support Fund will be a result of his upcoming North American tour to promote his new LP, Harry’s House, and Live Nation will match the donation.

“Along with all of you, I have been absolutely devastated by the recent string of mass shootings in America, culminating at Robb Elementary School in Texas,” Styles wrote on Instagram. “On our North American tour, we will be partnering with Everytown who work to end gun violence, donating to support their efforts, and sharing their suggested action items.”

All 42 dates to Styles’ tour are already sold out, and the musician sold an estimated 720,000 tickets in 2021, per Rolling Stone. The new record itself is expected to once again hit No. 1 debut on the Billboard 200 chart for the third straight time, and Styles is projected to earn between 450,000 and 500,000 equivalent album units, per Hits Daily Double.

His previous record Fine Line hit the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 with 478,000 equivalent album units during its first week. That album featured his first Hot 100 No. 1 single in “Watermelon Sugar,” and “As It Was,” off the new album, ended up being his second.
