Not all heroes wear capes

To mark National Cancer Awareness Day (November 7), Madhuri Dixit-Nene’s younger son, Ryan, 16, donated his hair. He had been growing his locks for a cause. “Ryan felt heartbroken seeing patients lose their hair during chemotherapy. He took a call of donating it to the Cancer Society. As per guidelines, it took him two years to grow the required length,” shared the actor. Dixit added that she and husband Shriram Nene were “proud” of their “superhero” Ryan. Hair donations help NGOs produce wigs for cancer patients as hair loss is a common side-effect during treatment.
