The Atlanta Hawks have agreed to trade center John Collins to the Utah Jazz.

Per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Hawks are sending Collins to the Jazz for Rudy Gay and a future second-round pick. This will get Collins’ three-year $78 million deal off the books as they reshape their roster.

Collins will now have a fresh start with the Jazz after spending the previous six seasons with the Hawks. He was in numerous trade rumors and wasn’t moved until now.

He played in 71 games this past season, averaging 13 points and 6.5 rebounds per game while shooting 50.8% from the floor. His best individual season came in 2019-20 when he averaged 21.6 points and 10 rebounds per game while shooting 58.3% from the floor.

For his career, he has averaged 15.8 points, eight rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game.
