Jimmy Butler is as tough as they come in the NBA, but even the Miami Heat are unsure of his status for Game 2 following Sunday’s ankle injury.
The team’s leading scorer rolled his ankle after colliding with Josh Hart on a fourth quarter drive. And while he stayed in the game, Butler was clearly in a lot of pain.
Asked his thoughts on if Jimmy will be a go in the next game, Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra admitted it’s a “waiting game.”

“No idea,” Spoelstra said. “You just don’t know with ankle sprains. I don’t even know if we’ll know more by tomorrow. We’ll just have to see. It’ll be a waiting game.”
Butler gave Miami 25 huge points to help carry them to a 108-100 road win, adding 11 rebounds and four assists to go with two steals on the defensive end.
The next game is scheduled for Tuesday night at The Garden and you just know the six-time All-star will do everything he can to be out there with his team.
Butler is averaging 37.6 PPG this postseason.
