Heath Ledger’s daughter to grace PERTH’S shores

There are rumours that Heath Ledger’s little girl Matilda will return to Perth in the coming months.

According to reports from New Idea, the soon-to-be 18-year-old is planning on taking a gap year and spending some time in WA where her father grew up and spend some time with his Perth family.

“Matilda’s graduating high school in a couple of months,” a source told the publication.

“She’s keen to take a year off and head to Australia. She wants to get to see and spend time with Heath’s family before she gets down to the serious business of university in America.”

The insider added that Heath’s parents, Kim and Sally, have been flying to the States to spend time with their granddaughter but it’s becoming ‘harder’ for the pair to get across to the other side of the world.

“Of course, they would be thrilled to bits if Matilda was to come and spend some time with them, now that she’s old enough.”

The teenager’s mother, actress Michelle Williams, reportedly has reservations about her daughter jetting Down Under, however, with Matilda turning 18 in October, she’ll be of legal age to make decisions by herself, including flying across the world.

“Matilda understands her mum’s concerns, but she has a deep need to understand the other side of her heritage,” the source added.

Heath sadly passed away in 2008, when Matilda was almost three-years-old.

The Dark Knight star’s dad had previously talked about his granddaughter and mentioned how similar she is to her famous dad.

“She’s got an enormous number of his mannerisms,” he previously told The Project.

“She’s very inquisitive, she’s got his energy, cause Heath never slept from when he was two and Matilda’s like that.

“I mean, she’s just got this ball of energy and she radiates this little aura, Heath was kind of like that. So it’s fabulous really.”
