Henry Cavill gave beautiful feedback to Supergirl star Sasha Calle

Next month The Flash is going to hit cinemas and bring Superman’s reign to an end.

Barry Allen will drastically change the timelines and, instead of Kal-El arriving on Earth, Kara Zor-El will, meaning Supergirl will take over as the planet’s strongest defender.

Sasha Calle plays Supergirl, the replacement for Henry Cavill’s Clark Kent, and although fans have lamented seeing the British superhero make his exit, he is all in on seeing Calle take his place.

In an interview with EW, Calle confirmed that Cavill had seen The Flash, and later spoke to her about what he thought of her performance.

“Yes, I met him,” Calle revealed. “I met him actually after the movie was done, months later. I gave him a big hug.”

Calle gushed over Cavill, who played Superman in four DC Studios movies (Man of Steel, Batman V Superman, Justice League, and a brief cameo in Black Adam).

She said: “You know, it’s Henry Cavill, man! Our Man of Steel. He is kind and very proper, and it was a great experience.”

Calle, who plays Superman’s cousin, asked Cavill: “Did I make you proud, cuz? Does Superman approve?”

The British superstar’s reply left Calle extremely happy.

Cavill humbly replied: “Absolutely. You did a phenomenal job.”

Calle went on: “I think, to me, that meant the world, because it’s Henry Cavill, Man of Steel.”

Cavill was “brought back” to the series in the post-credits scene of Black Adam – however it later transpired that he was asked to rejoin the DC Universe by Dwayne Johnson at the last minute.

Shortly thereafter, Cavill confirmed he was not, in fact, returning to the DCU as Superman, and the franchise’s new creative director, James Gunn, confirmed this as well.

Gunn said in January: “We didn’t fire Henry. Henry was never cast. For me, it’s about who do I want to cast as Superman and who do the filmmakers we have want to cast? And for me, for this story, it isn’t Henry.”

Gunn and DC Studios are currently casting new actors to take on the iconic roles of Superman and Batman, but their official announcements will likely come within the next year or so.

The Flash hits cinemas on June 14.
