San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich is going to be very well-compensated as he coaches the team for the next five years.

Per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Popovich’s new deal is worth “more than $80 million,” resetting the coaching market after Monty Williams’ six-year, $78.5 million contract with the Pistons.

Here’s what fans had to say about Coach Pop’s extension on Twitter:

“Popovich is President of Basketball Operations and head coach, so it’s possible his new deal allows him to earn out the contract even if he doesn’t coach the full five years of the deal,” Woj followed-up.

“Gregg Popovich paying himself $80 million,” a user said.

“They signed Pop to that Bertans deal,” another replied.

“Spo bout to be the first ever $100 million coach,” a Heat fan commented.

“I told people Monty’s deal would change the head coaching market,” tweeted Pistons Talk.

“POP FOREVER.”

After mulling over retirement, Popovich will stick around to help mold No. 1 pick Victor Wembanyama.
