History repeats itself when Tom Aspinall suffers freak accident in UFC London main event

The main event of UFC London ends in mere seconds and in anti-climactic fashion, as Curtis Blaydes comes out victorious due to an injury suffered by Tom Aspinall.

For the second week in a row, the main event of UFC Fight Night ends in the first round thanks to an unfortunate injury.

The UFC London headline bout came to an end just 15 seconds in when Tom Aspinall suffered a knee injury, giving Curtis Blaydes a TKO victory.

As Aspinall went for a kick, Blaydes countered with a right hand that knocked Aspinall back. It was on that step back that Aspinall went into great pain, clutching at his leg and going down to the canvas to end the fight quickly.

Last week’s Fight Night card on Long Island, New York, ended in a similar fashion when Brian Ortega suffered a shoulder injury in the first round of his main event bout with Yair Rodriguez.

UFC London: Curtis Blaydes vs. Tom Aspinall takes place on Saturday, July 23, 2022, live from the 02 Arena in London, England. Follow along with FanSided MMA for all your news and highlights.
